Bucket Wish® is a special needs outreach for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities. You can make a difference when you donate to the Gilliland Foundation. Together, we design wishes for children and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities.
How It Started: Blake Boninfante & Chip Neal
Our inspiration for Bucket Wish®️ was Blake Boninfante, a fun-loving 16-year-old boy with Nonverbal Autism who wanted a parade for his 16th birthday, and Chip Neal, who suffered a brain stem injury after being hit by a drunk driver, who is a devoted Wake Forest basketball fan and wanted to attend a game. In 2019, Blake’s neighborhood came together to make his wish come true, and Chip got to attend the Wake Forest Demon Deacons ACC basketball game against the University of Virginia Cavaliers at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Little did Blake and Chip know that their wishes would inspire the Gilliland Foundation to begin a program that would grant wishes out of faith, hope and love.
Bucket Wish®️ facilitates one-of-a-kind wishes to children and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities. Wishes that provide encouragement and generate experiences that will forever be remembered.
Thank you to Blake’s and Chip’s families for their support of our vision, and most importantly, their faith, hope and love.
